Are you having trouble with our livestream? Check out these tips and tricks below to make sure you are getting the best viewing experience each week!

5 Troubleshooting Tips

1. There's No Sound

Each week we take extensive measures to make sure our stream is working properly on a multitude of devices. We always check to make sure we are getting sound on each device so we can make sure the problem is not on our end. There could be a couple of reasons you aren't getting any sound on your end.

First check to make sure the megaphone icon in the corner is unmuted in the video player. You want that megaphone icon to look like this:

If your icon looks like this:  then you're stream is muted, you must click this button to unmute your sound.

If you're sound is unmuted make sure that the volume on both your device and the video player itself are turned up. If you are listening to the stream on headphones make sure that they are plugged in all the way.

If you are getting sound but it is very quiet please try a different device. Every device has different speakers that output at different levels and while we test the audio on our end on different speakers it is impossible for us to know for certain that every device will be able to get loud enough.

2. My Video Is Buffering Alot

Just like with sound we test our video signal to make sure everything is working properly. Video buffering is most often caused by a poor internet connection. If you are watching on a cell phone data and NOT wifi it is important that you are getting a strong LTE signal. Each cell phone provider's symbols look a little bit different but you should see something like this:  If you do not see four bars on your phone, or it says 3G then you have a poor signal connection and will need to go somewhere different to watch or switch to a wifi connection.

If you are watching on wifi it is important that you have a excellent signal connection. Generally speaking, the closer you are to your router the better your signal will be. If you experience a large amount of buffering in one area of your home try moving closer to your router. A strong wifi connection will look like this: If there aren't four marks then you're signal may not be strong enough. Attempt to move closer to your router or try a hardline connection into your router.

3. I Can't Find The Service Video

Each video is tied to an event page on our website. If you are having trouble finding it make sure you are going into a web browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge and typing in the address www.pendfmc.org. Typing that address into Facebook will not get you to our site. Once there, if we are currently live you can click the banner at the top of the page that says "We Are Live Watch Now" and it will direct you to our videos page. If we are not currently live because service has ended you can rewatch our stream by going to the Resources tab and clicking the Past Service Archive.

4. I Can't Cast The Stream To My TV

Casting can be a complicated beast. Casting depends largely on what device you are watching on and what device you are trying to cast too. If you have an Android phone and want to watch the stream on a TV the easiest thing to do is get a Google Chrome Cast device. If your TV has Chrome Cast built in then great! You will then see this symbol:  Clicking that will then ask what device you'd like to cast too, select your TV and you should be good to go!

If you are watching on an Apple device you will need to use Airplay which looks like this: From there it is the same process as casting from an Android phone. If your TV does not support Chrome Cast or Airplay there are other ways to cast the screen on your phone. This is a more complicated process and you can click here to learn more about that.

5. I've Tried Everything You've Said And It Still Doesn't Work

If nothing listed above helps there is one last line of defense. You can click here to watch us directly on Twitch. If that doesn't resolve your issue then please call the church during our office hours the following week and ask to speak with Pastor Chris who will assist you in any way he can to try and resolve the issue.

If for any reason our stream goes down or we are having technical difficulties on our end, we will post about it in the chat and notify you. Otherwise it is safe to assume the issue is not on our end of things.
